Baldwin Wallace University String Camp
For one week during June 2013, I worked as an Orchestra Assistant and Floor Supervisor at the Baldwin Wallace University String Camp. I worked with Lindsay Fulcher's orchestra throughout the week during sectionals and rehearsals. I rehearsed and conducted one piece on my own, which was performed during the culminating concert at the end of the week. Below you can view the video of this song at the concert. This song included improvised solos. I worked with the orchestra on improvisation throughout the week leading up to the concert.

This camp was my first experience in front of a string group (although I have been playing strings for years). I learned a lot about myself as an educator and musician throughout the week. It was exciting to see the students making progress and growing musically, among all the homesickness, making friends, and other things that accompany every camp experience.

Camp Pennwood
Camp Pennwood is a 6-week day camp run by the Arc of York County for children (ages 6-21) with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I was fortunate enough to work as the Music Coordinator at Camp Pennwood during the summers of 2012 and 2013. This meant that I led daily music activities for all campers and assisted with anything else as needed. I thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity and learned a lot from it. One of the highlights of my time there was organizing a camp-wide talent show. Our campers shared their talents of singing, dancing, beat-boxing, playing instruments, and more. I was very proud of all the campers who performed in front of their peers and counselors!
